04 · ABOUT
ABOUT DAN
Dan Romeo is an internationally seasoned singer, guitarist and producer whose career has taken him across the USA, UK, Europe and Canada.
Music has been part of Dan’s life from the very beginning. A third-generation musician, he grew up playing alongside his two brothers and learning the craft from their troubadour father. Performing was never a hobby in the Romeo household, it was a way of life, and Dan turned professional straight out of high school.
The years that followed took him far beyond Sydney. Dan has performed at LA’s legendary Viper Room supporting Kate Miller-Heidke, appeared at Scotland’s Wickerman Festival and Sweden’s Dalarocken Festival, and toured extensively overseas. Along the way he recorded with producers behind Paul McCartney, U2, Silverchair and The Rubens, sharpening an ear for detail that now shapes everything he does in the studio.
With 30 years on guitar and 25 years as a vocalist, Dan brings genuine stagecraft to every performance. His rich, soulful voice and masterful guitar, elevated by live looping for a full-band sound, move effortlessly through soul, blues, funk, folk, reggae and rock, from timeless classics to today’s favourites. He is equally at home with a stripped-back acoustic set as he is fronting a full band, and he has a knack for reading a room and giving every crowd exactly what it needs.
That experience has made Dan a trusted choice for weddings, corporate functions and private celebrations. Past clients include Sydney FC, ANZ, National Australia Bank, Nintendo, TEDx and Johnson & Johnson. Fully self-contained with his own PA and lighting, reliable and easy to work with, he delivers a polished, memorable performance every time.
Away from the stage, Dan works as a producer, audio engineer and session musician, helping artists take their songs from first idea to finished master. He also teaches guitar, vocals, songwriting and production, passing on the lessons of a working career to players at every level, whether in the studio or online.
Whether he’s playing your wedding, producing your record or teaching your first chords, Dan brings the same thing to every job: decades of experience, real musicianship and a genuine love of the craft.
